to do assignments.

A narrative tells a story.  You may choose the story you wish to tell.  Please remember that I will read the paper, so do not share anything that you deem extremely private or personal.  No restrictions, however, apply to the topic.
You may or may not choose to use a climax in your narrative.  That is optional.  If you opt to use a climax, a basic conflict resolution, do not worry about how you will do so.  If you describe how something happened in sequential steps, the climax will naturally occur in the story.
Please consider the following suggestions:
(1.) Use first-person point of view (I)
(2.) Employ dialogue (If used, words spoken go inside quotation marks);
(3.) Begin paper with a strong grabber (e.g., I almost fell off a cliff.)
(4.) Avoid irrelevant details that slow down the flow of the narrative; get straight to the
point—be direct.
Grading Criteria:
(1.) The use of a focused and controlling idea
(2.) that focuses the paper on one incident
(3.) and shapes the narrative;
(4.) An optional use of a climax (basic conflict resolution)
(5.) Telling and showing (we discussed the differences and uses of both in writing in
(6.) A relative freedom from errors in grammar, mechanics, and spelling
