Discussion Topic: The current Texas Constitution was designed to provide greater popular control over the government. Thus, Texans were given a direct say in the amendment process. Given the low levels of turnout in elections dealing with amendments, how much does this process enhance democracy? Please explain how it either enhances or does not enhance democracy. Do you think that the Texas Constitution should be changed? Why or why not? How would you change the constitution if given the opportunity? Please explain your changes.
