Instructions Format of Your Reading Reports Complete your weekly readings. Write a one-page response to a selected assigned reading for the week using the guidelines below and the reading report worksheet. Your response must be typed, single spaced, with pages numbered and in text citations as necessary (author’s last name, page #). Your reading reports should be typed using Times New Roman 12-point font size, single spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides, and with pages numbered. Please submit to the Dropbox as a word document (not a PDF) on the date indicated in the syllabus. First, list the title of the reading and author as the heading for your paper. A-Quotation: Quote a sentence from a reading assigned for the week that you think reflects the author’s main argument (provide the author’s name and page number in text). B-Argument: State the author’s argument in this selected reading in your own words in three to five sentences. C-Questions: What questions do you have for the authors that are left unresolved upon reading the selection? Your questions should be interpretive not merely questions of fact. Provide at least three or more questions in this section (never state “I have no questions” because this suggests a lack of intellectual curiosity on your part as a student). D-Critical Connection: How does the reading relate to (contrasts with, confirms, clarifies, elaborates) the larger topic of the week in terms of other readings/class discussion/lecture? Provide at least four to five sentences in this section. E-Implications: What are some larger implications raised by this reading? How does the reading encourage us to think more critically about urban legends? Provide at least four to five sentences for this section.
