This is a Chemistry IA. It is a parti of the IB diploma. You need to create a methodology for the investigation. There needs to be extensive research and evaluation of the research. It needs to include graphs and other forms of data representation. The structure should be something like this: Structuring a Science IA: Research Question: Introduction: (Stating your Personal Engagement and what you want to explore) Background Information: (Talk about the area of exploration in details, introduce and explain the new terms, variables use in this experiment, and the importance/relevance of the topic of research) Hypothesis: Research Question: Methodology: (A paragraph on the technique of experiment, justifying its application) Materials required: (can be put in appendix, if page number increases) Safety Measures: (can be put in appendix, if page number increases) Procedure: Step-wise. Analysis: (heading) Data collection: (table) Data processing: (show calculation/working equation first, then give processed data table) Data interpretation: (graph, chart; a paragraph on what the graph interprets) Evaluation and Conclusion: Draw a specific conclusion from the interpreted data. The conclusion should sound like the best-possible answer to the research question and should not sound vague. It may or may not match your hypothesis, but you should mention that. In case you have anomaly, explain in the next paragraph what could be the sources of errors which led to the anomaly and suggest the possible ways of improving the quality of the experiment. Also, if possible, suggest one or two possible extension of the experiment. An easy way to do this is by asking to introduce a different variable. Appendix: Apparatus and chemicals used, safety measures, pictures.
